It has been reported that halal-themed fairs, conferences, congresses, and similar events offer significant opportunities for developing trade in halal-certified products and services among Muslims worldwide, particularly in member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), establishing a reliable and sustainable halal certification system, and increasing cooperation in improving the halal quality infrastructure of countries.

The Halal Expo and the 12th World Halal Summit, themed "Sustainable Halal Economy: Preventing Waste, Encouraging Growth," are planned to be held at the Istanbul Fair Center from November 25-28, 2026, under the coordination of the Islamic Countries Standards and Metrology Institute (SMIIC).
