Application procedures and general requirements for student admissions are announced prior to each academic term on the Announcements page: https://enstitu.kayseri.edu.tr/tr/duyurular

Click the link for contact information; https://enstitu.kayseri.edu.tr/en/contact

You may enroll in more than one Non-Thesis Master’s program; however, you cannot be simultaneously enrolled in more than one Master’s with Thesis or PhD (Doctorate) program.

Course registration dates and procedures are announced at the beginning of each term on the Announcements page: https://enstitu.kayseri.edu.tr/tr/duyurular .

For course registration, log in via https://sis.kayseri.edu.tr/oibs/std/login.aspx , select your courses, click “Kesinleştir” (Finalize) and then “Onayla” (Confirm) to submit your registration in full for advisor approval, and monitor the advisor’s approval status.

For the Non-Thesis Master’s Program, after selecting your courses you must complete the payment, then click “Kesinleştir” (Finalize) and “Onayla” (Confirm) to send your registration for advisor approval, and follow up on the advisor approval.

Course schedules are published separately for each program on the Announcements page: https://enstitu.kayseri.edu.tr/tr/duyurular. For detailed information about course procedures and delivery, please contact the instructor of the relevant course.

Students in the Scientific Preparation, Master’s, and PhD (Doctorate) programs may take courses totaling up to forty-five (45) ECTS credits in a given semester. If Master’s with Thesis and PhD (Doctorate) students fail to complete the coursework phase within four (4) semesters, their enrollment with the Graduate School will be terminated. In Non-Thesis Master’s programs, the duration is fixed at three (3) semesters.

Course registration cannot be processed outside the designated registration period. To avoid any adverse consequences, students must complete their course registration on time.

Students who fail to register within the specified period will not be entitled to any student rights for that semester.

A student who does not complete course registration or fails to renew it within the period specified in the academic calendar loses the right to continue that semester. The missed semester is counted toward the total period of study (time to degree).

Students who, at the beginning of the semester, select their courses and complete registration in consultation with their advisor may—within the period specified in the academic calendar and again with their advisor’s approval—make course changes, add courses, or drop courses.

International students are required to pay the tuition fees determined annually by the University Senate.

In on-campus graduate education, attendance is mandatory for both theoretical and practical courses. Pursuant to decisions of the relevant boards, students must attend at least eighty percent (80%) of lectures and practical sessions. Students who fail to meet the attendance requirement are not permitted to take the course’s midterm, end-of-semester (final), make-up (resit), or single-course (“tek ders”) examinations. In distance education programs, the attendance requirement is deemed fulfilled by completing at least one in-term activity, such as an assignment or a midterm examination.

In distance education programs, the instructor responsible for the course is required to engage with students online each week for at least the scheduled duration of the course. Students conduct all communication with their advisors and the course instructor online, either synchronously or asynchronously.

First, using the OBS (Student Information System) password sent to you via SMS and e-mail at the time of enrollment, you can log in to OBS at https://sis.kayseri.edu.tr/oibs/std/login.aspx and track your student status, advisor, course information, grades, and other records through the system.

Students who fail to complete course registration on time will not be entitled to any student rights for that semester.

You must renew your registration before you can freeze your enrollment (take a leave of absence). After renewing, you may submit a request to freeze your enrollment.

To freeze your enrollment (take a leave of absence), you must document one of the grounds specified in the Procedures and Principles on Just and Valid Reasons adopted by our University Senate and apply to the Department Chair using the FR-306 Leave of Absence (Application) Form available in the Forms section of our website.

Students who are unable to take midterm examinations due to a justified excuse specified in the Procedures and Principles on Just and Valid Reasons approved by the University Senate are granted the right to a make-up exam. Applications for make-up exams must be submitted within one week (five business days) following the end of the excuse. No make-up exams are administered for end-of-semester (final), resit (bütünleme), or single-course examinations.

Students enrolled in Graduate School programs may, upon the recommendation of the Graduate School department chair and under conditions deemed appropriate by the Graduate School Executive Board, take course(s) from another higher education institution. With the department chair’s recommendation and the Executive Board’s approval, students may take up to two courses from other institutions within Master’s with Thesis and PhD (Doctorate) programs; however, students admitted to a PhD program with a bachelor’s degree may take up to four courses. The evaluation of these courses is carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Kayseri University Graduate School Education and Instruction Regulations.

Students enrolled in a Master’s, PhD (Doctorate), or Proficiency in Arts program at another higher education institution may, with the approval of the chair of the graduate major/art department at their home institution, be admitted to our graduate courses as non-degree (“special”) students. The exemption/credit transfer procedures for courses taken and successfully completed as a special student are carried out by the chair of the graduate major/art department at the institution where the student is registered. The admission conditions for special students and other related provisions are determined by the University Senate.

For students with special-student status, the evaluation of academic performance is conducted in accordance with Articles 24 and 28 of the Kayseri University Graduate School Education and Instruction Regulations.

Including graduate-level courses taken under non-degree (“special student”) status, courses from graduate programs at domestic or foreign higher education institutions that are related to the student’s major may be transferred to the program in which the student is enrolled, provided that the student has withdrawn from the program in which those courses were taken and that they have not been used toward any diploma, and subject to the advisor’s opinion, the recommendation of the major/art department, and the decision of the Graduate School Executive Board.

Within the scope of reciprocal exchange programs, if there are equivalent or substitutable courses in the curriculum, courses related to the student’s major taken at domestic or foreign universities are recorded together with those equivalents; if not, the courses are entered on the student’s transcript as electives with their own code, title, and credits. Under conditions deemed appropriate by the Graduate School Executive Board upon the recommendation of the major/art department, for course(s) taken at another higher education institution, the code(s), title(s), and ECTS credit(s) are matched on a one-to-one basis and the achievement grade(s) are converted to the letter grade(s) corresponding to the University’s 4-point grading scale.

Except for lateral transfers, credit-bearing courses used to complete a bachelor’s/master’s program cannot be transferred to another master’s/PhD/proficiency in arts program. Application is made to the relevant major department within one month following the start of the academic term. Leaves are not counted toward the period of study. Leave applications are submitted.

With the favorable opinion of the advisor and the major department chair, and by decision of the Graduate School Executive Board, graduate students may be granted a leave of absence for up to two (2) semesters; this period cannot be less than one (1) semester. Leaves of absence are not counted toward the time to degree.

If the failed course is a required (compulsory) course, it cannot be replaced with a different course. An elective course may be replaced—subject to the advisor’s approval—with another graduate-level course. The attendance requirement applies to the new course taken in lieu of the failed one.

A student’s enrollment may be terminated upon the student’s own request. A student who wishes to withdraw applies to the Graduate School with a petition.

Otherwise, the student’s enrollment with the University is terminated.

#A student who does not attend the Doctoral Qualifying Examination on the first attempt is deemed to have failed; a student who does not attend a second time will have their registration canceled.

Yes. You can find the lateral transfer quotas and requirements set by the academic departments in the Student Admission Announcement posted on the Graduate School’s website (Announcements section).

A student who has completed the coursework phase must, in the next semester, contact their advisor; select the Thesis Study and Specialization Area courses in the Student Information System; and, within the following two (2) weeks at the latest, submit the FR-290 Thesis Proposal Form to the major department with an original (wet-ink) signature.

For the Non-Thesis Master’s program, the maximum duration is three (3) semesters; for the Master’s with Thesis, six (6) semesters; and for the PhD (Doctorate), twelve (12) semesters. Semesters in which you do not renew your registration are still counted toward these limits. If you do not graduate within these periods, your enrollment will be terminated.

As in the coursework phase, course selection must also be completed in the thesis phase. Students who have advanced to the thesis phase register by selecting the Thesis Study and Specialization Area courses.

First and foremost, you must contact your advisor. After determining your thesis topic, complete the FR-290 Thesis Proposal Form available in the Forms section of our website, obtain all required signatures, and submit it to the Department Chair. The thesis proposal, forwarded by the Department Chair to the Graduate School with an official cover letter, is finalized by decision of the Graduate School Executive Board. You must complete this process at the beginning of the semester, within the date range announced on the website.

After consulting with your advisor, you must complete the FR-288 Thesis Title/Topic Change Form available in the Forms section of our website and submit it to the Department Chair.

Within one (1) month after passing the Qualifying Examination, the student’s advisor forms a Thesis Monitoring Committee (TİK) and notifies the Graduate School. No later than six (6) months from the Qualifying Examination, the student must take the thesis proposal defense before the TİK. The advisor must notify the Graduate School in writing of the proposal defense at least one (1) week in advance. If the student successfully defends the proposal and the topic is approved, the examination result is reported to the Graduate School. Upon approval of the thesis proposal, the student begins the thesis work and, starting from the first subsequent TİK period, is examined by the Thesis Monitoring Committee twice per year.

Within the infrastructure of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) Open Science and Open Access System, in order to standardize data, the use of the Open Researcher and Contributor ID (ORCID)—a free, international author identifier—has become necessary. Thesis-track graduate students and all academics are required to obtain an ORCID iD and to link their previous publications to this ORCID iD.

An ORCID iD must be obtained before receiving a reference number.

For a student who has been granted a revision period following the thesis defense, the Department Chair must submit the defense outcome to the Graduate School in writing no later than three (3) business days. The process must be monitored by both the advisor and the student. The student must be re-examined on the notified date of the revision (corrective) defense.

The result of the thesis defense must be reported to the Graduate School by the Department Chair, via an official cover letter, within three (3) business days at the latest, and the Graduate School must be contacted.

To fill out the Thesis Data Entry Form available on the relevant webpage, you must sign in via e-Government (e-Devlet). After logging in with e-Devlet, the student must enter the required information about the thesis. The system will assign a reference number (visible when you click the Save button). When you click Print, you will have the option to save the Thesis Data Entry Form as a PDF. In this way, the form can be saved to your computer and printed. It is recommended that you obtain the reference number before your thesis defense and that you base it on the thesis completion year. Only one reference number should be obtained for each thesis.

A student who wishes to withdraw must apply to the Graduate School by submitting the FR-069 Enrollment Cancellation (Withdrawal) Form.
